Music video produced for Post Punk Band Kopper, I co-directed with Jon Williams.
Fading Fires is the chaotic and arresting first single from the debut EP of psychedelic post-punk three piece Kopper. The track is packed with eccentric rhythms and atmospheric lyrics. The official music video follows a young painter, plagued by self-doubt and creative malaise, who resorts to a desperate solution to their identity crisis.
After initially creating the masks to be placed over the bands faces for promo images, I took it a stage further to create living versions of the masks. Inspired by facial tracking in mobile Apps, I endeavoured to building 2.5 D versions of the masks, and applied motion capture to Koppers face, to map singing to the mask.
